Business In A Box: Shipping Container Sport Shop [ More photos here ]This project was sent to us by one of our ISBA Members in Uruguay. It's a very high quality BizPod conversion using a 20GP
shipping container and using the doors as the customer entrance with large picture windows in the front to attract customers.
This is absolutely one of the best quality projects and simplest designs we have seen and fits well into the tourism area near
the beach. We are expecting more photos soon.
NOTE: Our staff thought maybe this was part of the Musto Sporting Goods chain from the UK, but after speaking to Wendy
Miller of Musto in London by phone she confirms this is not a Musto corporate shop but may be a dealer.

Commercial: Virtual Teach and Learn Center Promotes Shipping Container Construction[ More photos here ]
One of our Australia Members sent us this unique project and the virtual (not real) Jokaydia Island project is growing rapidly among
certain 3D design enthusiasts. It appears to be promoted part of a "virtual" class room project promoted by Teach and Learn in
Canada. Whether you fully understand their teaching and learning concepts you must agree the artwork is exceptional and we
certainly applaud their choice of using ISBU shipping containers as a major part of their island housing, classroom and community
construction. Recyclable ISBU shipping containers are a big part of any Eco concept including solar, wind and greenroofs. The island
uses them for housing, classrooms, cultural center and personal storage units, just as in the ideal real world.
The Jokaydia designs are in three of our categories, Concept, Mmmm, and also Commercial. We think you will enjoy browsing them.

Modern: Tuff Cube Designs Show The Easy Transformation Of Shipping Containers To Homes
[ More photos here ] This is one of the designs from our new Tuff Cube series which is intended to offer many tools for our readers. The Tuff Cube™
concept is not only used for education in the "Container Transformation", but will soon be used to provide accurate life like designs
and plans for shipping container design, modification and construction.
The Tuff Cube concept is not just the photos you see, but they are part of a very simple and easy-to-use software program that
is very inexpensive and does not require a professional. The 3D program has templates that the user simply modifies with a click
including simple changes to the interior and exterior. ...decorating, remodeling, furnishing and even landscaping. It automatically
generates the 360° view 3D photos, but also the 2D architectural plans. You will see more of these templates very soon.

Modern:Verbus Containers Go Modern With New UK Housing Designs

This Jamaica office is built from a single 40GP ISBU cargo container and is the
office of the same architects who designed and built the cargo container office.
It was designed by architects Chris Whyms-Stone and David Douglas who own
the firm of Cornerstone Architects in Kingston, Jamaica. This is not only their
design but also their new office. It sits on an elevation which adds even more to
it's unique appearance.
With real estate prices soaring this was their plan dating as far back as 2002.
They have other shipping container designs including a car dealership, however
there is an extreme shortage of shipping containers in Jamaica. Eventhough there
is a demand and great interest in shipping container designs in Jamaica, the ISBU
shortage has halted construction.

For all these years people keep saying, "but why do the
shipping containers always need to look like shipping containers?
As we keep saying, "the don't".
Now Verbus has finally added the simple exterior decor to prove
that ISBU shipping container construction can be very attractive
even when a single unit housing project is constructed.
Verbus are the people behind the Travelodge projects and
many other UK container housing projects proving the "box"
can be strong, flexible and also beautiful.
You may notice that the Verbus ISO shipping containers are
12', which is 4' wider than the standard ISO container.
Although it is nice to have the extra width it has many serious
problems and challenges during transport; on the ships from it's
China factory and then on the streets to the final project. The
planning time and delays take the feasibility and beauty from
the easy-to-use standard 8' wide ISBU.
The Verbus people are genius at what they do but for most
projects and contractors globally that extra size is a nightmare.
Most architects and contractors with any experience prefer to
use of two 8' ISBU will form a 16' rather than fight the transit
problems of the 12'. No matter what, Verbus is a winner...
